Still trying to get a good shot of this little beauty.
Visiting a flower.
{Ed: The flower is an ipomopsis. I purchased the seed from Burpee. It is an annual that will reseed in zone 5.}
At the feeder.
Flying over to investigate the human making the funny whirring noise.
love the photo of the hummingbird and flower! what is the flower -- a salvia, perhaps?

What with the blur due to the little hummer's motion, the blur due to my old eyes, and lack of knowledge on my part, I'm not sure but the hummer looks like a Rufous, to me. Is it?

Up here in zone five I think the only hummingbirds we get are the Ruby throated. Not that I am complaining... they are more than welcome in my garden.
The males tend to avoid the feeders, but I get several females on a regular basis, which is why you don't see that identifying dark patch under the chin!
