But not in the garden. While the first plant catalog has hit my desk, it is other things that I am focused on in December. Preparing for the holidays - sending cards, making gifts, shopping, preparing food... lots of energy being spent to get through the month.
But the seasons continue to turn, and each day has something of beauty in it, if one looks a bit.
This picture has been modified from the base grey it started out with - I gave it a bit of brightness, and put a bit of saturation on the color to bring out the red of the berry. Made it a lot more cheerful.
