Gardening in zone 8 - Phoenix, Arizona since May of 2007:
The journal of a gardener in transition from her former garden (Hogglebog, a zone 5 garden located in southeast Michigan) to her new garden in Phoenix, Arizona
Was hazy, but I got lots of great shots of nature.
I'll probably post more photos later, but I really liked this one.
Or maybe I'll post one more right now...

The cypress? looks like it sports an iguana head on the right side of the trunk.
Your photos remind me of my Grand Canyon visit many years ago. It took my breath away. The scale is almost incomprehensible. Definitely the most impressive National park IMO. My sister likes Yosemite but it's puny in comparison.
Visiting the Grand Canyon is almost like trekking to another planet. We did a 14-day dory trip through the canyon and it was an incredible experience. I'd love to do it again.

Cool photo of the tree! Haven't been to the Grand Canyon in years - have to put visiting back on my list of things to do.
