Gila woodpecker stealing a little hummingbird nectar.
Note to Marianne: Not the shot you were looking for; I do have more 'snapshotty' pics of the feeder birds. Not the best quality of photo when you are shooting through the sliding door! But my feeder is so close, I can't get outside to take their portraits.
Thanks, Jenn! Despite your complaints, I think it's great! Most people don't care about quality....they just want to see the animal or bird! (A digital darkroom tip if and when you're not happy?....Convert to B/W. Your subject usually really stands out. I'm sending you an example).

I love the Black and White of this image. Thanks!
And I know that for a blog, esp. one that is a 'backyard blog' like this one, photo quality shouldn't be an impediment to illustrating my posts. I just have [oft unbearably] high standards I set for myself.
I'm betting you have an idea what I am talking about! ;D

I played around with my original and came up with the black and white. Cool!

Seems like a very nice photo to me - although the B&W version is certainly striking.
Have a great New Year!
