A small sampling of some of the plants I have found to be heat-hardy in Phoenix.
Blue Potato Bush {Lycianthes rantonnetii}
Plumbago auriculata
Coral Fountain {Russelia equisetiformis}
Haworthia attenuata-fasciata
All of these except the Russelia require at least 50% shade from the death star.
Hi stranger! What a nice surprise to see your post pop up in my Feedly :-) I have Plumbago which is very happy in the almost total shade of one side of my house. The Leaf Cutter Bees are happy it's there! I also have Haworthia but much smaller than yours. I have hope :-)
I've been away from blogging since I discovered Instagram where I've been sharing daily photos of garden and desert stuff. Love that platform. I do intend to come back to blogging, though. (instagram.com/ezpixels)
Hope all is going well!

Marianne!
My Hawarthia has doubled in size every year. It's been reliable and reassuring to grow.
